Microcement is becoming an increasingly popular flooring choice amongst homeowners, interior designers, and architects.
Its modern and minimalist aesthetic mixed with practical characteristics make this the perfect choice if you want a floor that is easy to live with and gets noticed by anyone walking on it.
Microcement is a completely seamless flooring system, which means no more grout lines to keep clean and a floor that will continue to look great year on year. Whether in a Residential or Commercial setting all that is required is a quick mop down and your floors will look good as new.
We have two finish options, Gloss or Matt, depending on your preference, but each finish is waterproof and highly slip-resistant, perfect for heavy use areas. Whilst you might expect a cement-based surface to be cold underfoot, in fact, the opposite is true, our floors retain their heat and feel warm and soft underfoot, perfect for snuggle areas and high footfall parts of your home.
So whether it's a Kitchen, Kitchen/Diner, Lounge, Bathroom, or commercial space, you'll be pleased you chose a Microcement flooring system.

One of the great features of Microcement is that it is highly adhesive and will bond to almost any surface. Therefore it is suitable for a number of different substrates you might have in your home or business. Also unlike an epoxy resin, it is not self-leveling, instead, it is hand troweled, this means that minor differences in floor level are not an issue and reduce the amount of prep work prior to installation.
Concrete Screed: Most screeds will be suitable for microcement to be laid directly on top of, we will check for any latency and excessive-high spots but once these are removed we are ready to apply Microcement.
Tile Floors: Providing the tile floor is fixed soundly and there is no damage to any tiles a Microcement floor can be laid directly on top, this can save a huge amount of costs (and mess) when the usual alternative would be to take up a tile floor entirely.
Floor Boards/Wood Beams: If existing floorboards are sound with no movement then we can lay play directly on top to create a continuous surface, once joints are filled and taped a mesh layer and primer is applied ready for your new microcement.

The client was looking for a way to modernise their Kitchen without the disruption of removing floor tiles and worktops, Iconic Surfaces had the solution!
Deciding microcemnt was the look they wanted Iconic surfaces set to work, the team applied a leveling primer first and then three coats of microcemnt to ensure a fully flat and seamless surface.
We also applied the same system to the existing worktops to create a uniform look throughout.
The finishing touch was the cupboards being repainted in Farrow and Ball Latchkey Blue by the client.
Overall this was a quick and cost-effective way for the client to completely modernise their Kitchen and another great project completed by the team at Iconic Surfaces.
